Coincidence
November 15, 2009 // Posted by: jackster // Category: LifeI believe everything happens in a series of events,
each step taken will eventually affects either our lives or maybe others,
when we couldn’t find out the missing step,
we would tend to claim the event as a coincidence,
there’s nothing without a reason,
everything will have something causing it,
things may be unpredictable,
but it happens after a series of events,
not a coincidence.
Coincidence is not a part of science,
things need to be proved,
but the question is,
what exactly is science, which you fully depend on it to approve something?
I believe,
science is a good thing,
but to depend on it alone is a weakness.

Our brains are fantastic pattern recognition engines. we fail to notice is the hundreds or thousands of pieces of information which aren’t repeated, because they do not conform to an interesting pattern. This tendency to ignore the “uninteresting” data is an example of selective attention.it is unsurprising that we sometimes encounter the same information again within a short time.

I would agree that nothing is coincidental in life.. everything that happens must have its own reasons that may not appeal to our knowledge but still, Allah always knows best..
Yet, ‘science’ is simply ‘knowledge’ (scientia in Latin).. if something need to be proven true (scientifically), then we tend to use the scientific method that depends on our 5 senses in our quest of knowledge in the attempt to prove the existence of being..
However, the metaphysical world still exists even if it cannot be perceived by the human sensations.. So, yes ‘science’ or rather, ‘scientific method’ has its weakness in describing how things that happen have their causal relationship..
Even the historian, Arnold J. Toynbee in his challenge-and-response theory rejected the idea that the rise and fall of human civilisations occurs based on natural and inevitable cycle ~ coincidence is just not a factor!
